Visit the North Pole by Train
A Chattanooga family tradition since 1999, the North Pole Limited is an approximately 75-minute onboard Christmas experience. Travel aboard decorated, heated vintage railcars while enjoying hot chocolate, cookies, holiday storytelling, music, and displays near the depot and North Pole.
When the train reaches the North Pole, guests remain seated while Santa boards and visits each family for greetings and photos.

How long is the experience?
Allow approximately 75 minutes for train movement, cocoa and cookie service, storytelling, North Pole displays, and Santa’s onboard visit.
Is this a moving train ride?
Yes. The train travels from Grand Junction toward the North Pole and back. The focus is the onboard Christmas experience rather than extended scenery.
When should we arrive?
Arrive at least 30 minutes before your scheduled departure for parking, check-in, and boarding. Trains cannot wait for late arrivals.
Where does the train depart?
All departures leave from Grand Junction Depot at 4119 Cromwell Road in Chattanooga.
Are seats assigned?
Yes. Assigned seating keeps families together.
Do guests leave the train at the North Pole?
No. Guests remain seated while Santa boards the train and visits each family.
Do infants need tickets?
Children under one may ride on an adult’s lap without a reserved seat. Lap infants do not receive cocoa, a cookie, or a jingle bell.
Where are the light displays?
Displays appear near Grand Junction Depot and the North Pole area. This is not a continuous lights-show ride.
Is the train heated?
Yes. The holiday railcars are enclosed and heated.

Can we bring food or drinks?
Small snacks and nonalcoholic drinks are permitted. Alcohol is not allowed on TVRM property or trains.
