Norfolk Southern hosted an event to celebrate National Train Day at the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum (TVRM) on Saturday, May 7, 2011. This event at TVRM's Grand Junction Station featured modern locomotives on display from Norfolk Southern, special exhibits, railroad staff speaking with guests, and collectible gifts. For the kids, there was an operating Lionel train layout, coloring pages, temporary tattoos, wooden train play tables, and more! 

Norfolk Southern had a number of equipment displays including the NS Exhibit Car, environmentally-friendly "Evolution" locomotive #8080, and railfan favorite GP59 #4610 in a special commemorative paint scheme marking the 100th Anniversary of Southern Railway (in 1994.) Norfolk Southern employees were on hand to relay information about today's modern freight railroads and their importance in the prosperity of our great nation. There was a "World Premiere"of the Norfolk Southern Lawmen's music video for "Rollin' Out Again" which was filmed at TVRM featuring steam locomotives #630 & #610. There were also visits by Brainy who is a larger-than-life character designed to "train your brain" toward safety around railroad tracks. Nearly 1,000 visitors enjoyed National Train Day!
