It takes a lot of people to run a railroad. Railroad museums are no exception, especially when some of the locomotives running are steam engines. Here at the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum we rely on both paid staff and volunteers to keep our trains running on time.
Becoming a TVRM volunteer has a wealth of privileges. You get to ride the Missionary Ride Local for free* and bring non-member guests along at a group rate. You'll also receive advance notice of excursions and special events. You can even help out restoring our vintage equipment from coaches to steam and diesel locomotives.
If you've always dreamt of driving a locomotive or being a conductor, there are opportunities for you after the proper training. No existing skills are required, we'll teach you everything you need to know.**
Other privileges include:
- Subscription to our quarterly Smoke & Cinders newsletter
- 10% Discount at the Grand Junction gift shop
- The satisfaction of preserving railroad history
Not a Tennessee resident? Don't worry! We have members living as far away as Alaska. Download our membership form and become a member today!
