The Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum announces special Dinner Trains during the Valentine season. The trips will include a four-course dining experience on board a restored 1924 dining car. The excursion trains will depart from Grand Junction Station (directions, info) at 5:30 pm and 8:00 pm in the evening, traveling at a leisurely pace through portions of urban Chattanooga passing Warner Park Zoo and Chattanooga National Cemetery.
The Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum is pleased to offer this unique opportunity for patrons to enjoy not only a rail excursion trip, but also fine dining enroute while the train travels along the rails. In all honesty, this ride is about the rail dining experience more than the actual trip. Passengers are encouraged to choose their entrée as tickets are ordered. Patrons may select their entrée of carved English roast of beef topped in a Madeira sauce, roasted stuffed breast of chicken with a wild mushroom cream sauce or cumberland sauce, or crusted filet of salmon with a béarnaise sauce or red pepper butter.
In addition, patrons may choose from true vintage dining in the Dining Car (four to a table) or the Eden Isle Office Car #98 for private parties up to eight. The Office Car boasts a dining room, lounge area and rear observation platform. Presidential Office Car Eden Isle [info] is offered for private charter representing the ultimate in railway travel. The cost of $650 allows a group of up to eight (8) persons to travel in the opulent car, which boasts a dining room, lounge area, and rear observation platform. These fortunate passengers will dine at their own private table aboard the special car. This option can be reserved for only one group per evening.
Tickets for the excursion and dinner start at $55 per person, which includes tax and gratuity. Orders can be placed during weekday business hours by calling the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum office at 423.894.8028, extension zero. Tickets are expected to sell out in advance. Reservations are recommended.
