LUNCH TRAIN EXPERIENCE AT TVRM: RIDE, DINE, EXPLORE

Lunch Train Experience at TVRM: Ride, Dine, Explore

There’s something timeless about train travel—the rhythmic clatter of the rails, the gentle sway of the carriage, and the anticipation of discovering what lies around the bend. The Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum brings that magic to life once again with a brand-new experience: The Lunch Train.

This two-hour-and-forty-five-minute excursion isn’t just a train ride—it’s a culinary adventure paired with a dose of Chattanooga’s creative spirit.

🚆 The Experience

Departing from Grand Junction Depot at 12:45 PM, the Lunch Train offers guests a leisurely ride through portions of urban Chattanooga aboard beautifully restored dining cars. Along the way, passengers are treated to a three-course gourmet meal, prepared and served onboard.

The route includes a special layover at the Sculpture Fields at Montague Park, where passengers can disembark, stretch their legs, and explore one of the South’s largest sculpture parks—an open-air gallery that blends creativity and community.

You’ll return to the depot by 3:30 PM, satisfied in both body and spirit.

🥗 A Culinary Journey on Rails

The heart of this new venture is the onboard meal. While the train glides gently along the tracks, guests savor dishes crafted to reflect Southern hospitality and flavor. From fresh seasonal salads to hearty entrees and decadent desserts, every plate is thoughtfully curated.

Meals are served at elegant tables by attentive staff, evoking the golden age of railway dining.

🎨 Why Montague Park?

The layover at Sculpture Fields at Montague Park offers a unique touch you won’t find on traditional train excursions. This 33-acre park over 40 large-scale sculptures from international and local artists. It’s a reminder of Chattanooga’s creative transformation and a fitting midpoint for your afternoon journey.

🕰️ A Nod to the Past

While this ride is modern in comfort and cuisine, it also quietly pays homage to a bygone era. Dining aboard trains once symbolized luxury and connection, when meals on wheels weren’t rushed but revered. The Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum continues that tradition while incorporating the charm of today’s Chattanooga.
